Our First Completed Blanket!

Woo Hoo! Our first completed blanket! This is Rainbow Sherbert. Its name changed a few times during its time with our knitters, but what matters the most is that the gals worked hard and turned out a beautiful work of love. The knitters who worked on this were:

grannydani
PeattieWa
Debkcs
nannaknits
Purlingkitten
knittinmitchie - completed the last section and the border

Any parent would be honored to have this blanket cover their wee one.

Carousel, Puppy Love, and Pretty in Pink Join the Family Too!

Our knitters have been keeping themselves out of trouble by starting a lot of new blankets this week!

AuburnChick cast on two more. The one below is Carousel, which is the colorway of the yarn. She used the Check Pattern from the book knit & purl.

The next blanket she cast on, in her enthusiasm for the yarn and the project, is called Puppy Love. The colorway is "Puppy," and the stitch is "Twisted Moss." The yarn actually has flecks of color in it, although the picture doesn't show them.

Nannaknits cast on Pretty in Pink. She used Caron Simply Soft "Pink," and the pattern is the Diagonal Rib from this site.

Purple Mountains Majesty is Looking Oh So Majestic!

Purple Mountains Majesty is certainly purple and majestic! Don't you hear the song, "America The Beautiful" playing when you see this...

"Oh beautiful, for spacious skies...
For amber waves of grain.
For purple mountains majesty
Above the fruited plain..."

Ok...now for the picture:

Tropical Plantation is Growing!

This blanket is looking every so colorful, much like a plantation with tropical blooms.

Tropical Plantation Has Been Planted!

Auntcrafty finished casting on Tropical Plantation, which will be a preemie blanket. She used Bernat Softee Baby in Rumba Rose. She used the Double Moss stitch for her section.

Auntcrafty drew inspiration for the stitch from the skin of a breadfruit she tried two weeks ago and by the pineapples grown in her state.

The color was inspired by these, which grow near her...

Three More Blankets Get Underway!

The momentum for this project has really taken off! Everyone is chomping at the bit to get their hands on these adorable blankets! As a result, three new blankets were cast on this weekend!

AuburnChick cast on California Coast and Disney Land. California Coast will be knit using California's state colors, gold and blue. She used a garter stitch and Vanna's Choice yarn.

She also cast on Disney Land, using I Love This Yarn (Red). This pattern was adapted to fit the blanket, with 90 stitches being cast on. A garter border of 25 stitches was knit on each side with the pattern worked on the 40 stitches in the center.

Nostash2big cast on Autumn Reds. She used Caron Simply Soft in Autumn Red. The pattern is called Checkerboard from the Harmony Guides book knit & purl.
